The village reunites a major church of the roman style and the castle of the lords of La Tour d’Auvergne.
Nearby the castle, above the village, the roman-style church dedicated to the 1st bishops of Toulouse who were martyrs in the 3rd century and whose remains were brought back in Auvergne. On the village central square, the romane-style church of La Madelaine is one of the reamins of a larger building dating to 1040.
The rue Noble, with its beautiful mansions, leads to the bottom of the village. The market square and the wine-makers’ houses remind us that Auvergne was the largest producer of wine in the 19th.
