Charms and Wines of Alsace

Discovering the best of Alsace. This 5 day tour offers you a complete and perfect overview of Alsace, in an authentic and vivid atmosphere. Your program includes the visit of Hunspach and its Ligne Maginot's castle, Mittelbergheim and its wine producers, Hunawihr and Riquewihr, which have been selected as ones of France's Most Beautiful Villages; but also Strasbourg. The itinerary will allow you to discover these unique places. This programm is set on the basis of 2 persons sharing a double room and includes:

  • All breakfasts, 2 lunches and 4 dinners.
  • All private transfers from the arrival in Strasbourg. The minibus has comfortable seats with Air Conditioning system.
  • 4 nights in 2 and 3 star charming hotels see details below. Twin or double shared. Single rooms are available with extra cost.
  • Entrance tickets and Visit of : 1. Free visit of the Cathedral of Strasbourg, 2. Free visit of the Petite France, 3. Guided visit of the fortress Schoenenbourg, 4. DAY 1 - Strasbourg and its Cathedral
After your arrival in Strasbourg, you will discover the splendor of the Cathedral, "Prodigy of the gigantesque and delicate" for Victor Hugo, (a guided visit is available on request).

Then, you will appreciate the refinement of the Buerehiesel restaurant, which is rated 3 stars in the Michelin guide, and situated in the orangery garden. In the afternoon, you will freely discover the charms of the city capital of Alsace: the Petite France, the romantic banks of the river Ill, the Kleber Square…

For dinner, the Winstub (traditional Alsatian restaurant) Au Gutenberg offers you the opportunity to taste Alsatian gastronomy and wines. You will spend the night at the Maison Rouge hotel, a 3 star hotel, situated in the very heart of the city.
DAY 2 - Hunspach

After a VIP transfer to Hunspach, one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France, the guided visit of the fortress Schoenenbourg and its underground world shows you the living memory of the Ligne Maginot.

After a free lunch, you will discover the village of Hunspach and its authentic Alsatian architecture with half-timbered houses.

You will take rest at the Maison Ungerer in Hunspach, a charming guest house with the typical Alsatian welcome

DAY 3 - Alsatian Wineries

Transfer to Mittelbergheim, one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France, in the morning.

Lunch in the great restaurant Am Lindeplatzel.

In the afternoon, guided visit of the wineries of this picturesque village, situated on a hillside, at the foot of the Crax hill, and visit of the Cave aux confitures, where jams are made from fresh and natural fruits grown in the garden of the proprietor.

Dinner at the Gilg Winstub in Mittelbergheim, where you can savor Alsatian specialities as sauerkraut, bæckeoffe and even foie gras.

Night at the Abbaye d'Alspach, a 3 star Hotel situated in Kientzheim, in a 11th century abbey that once served as a Clarisses convent, and has now been converted to stylish hotel.

DAY 4 - Hunawihr and Riquewihr

After a transfer to Hunawihr in the morning, you will discover Alsatian wild life by the guided visit freely the Butterflies' Garden and the Center of Reintroduction of Storks and Otters, which are enchanting places. Entrance tickets included.

Free lunch in
Riquewihr and free visit of the village, whose layout and structure have not changed since the Middle Age, in the afternoon. You will admire its old houses built in the 16th and 17th centuries, its courtyards, galleries, old wells and fountains.

Dinner at the Auberge de Schoenebourg, which is rated 1 star in the Michelin, the restaurant's windows affords a fine panorama of its terraced slopes. It offers an appealing blend of traditional Alsatian and modern French cuisine, with an emphasis on the latter.

Night at the 3 star hotel Le Schoenenbourg, in Riquewihr, which provides you a view on the vineyard or on the old medieval town.

DAY 5 - Transfer back to Strasbourg
 

Transfer back to Strasbourg in the morning.
