La Villette and Belleville
This multicultural area will surprise you. Sciences Museum, the IMAX, the Saint-Martin Canal are as many places you'll go. This popular area is very few touristic even if it's really nice.
This northeastern area offers a unique blend of multicultural diversity. The Musée des Sciences - a former slaughterhouse cleverly revamped and modernized- host fascinating exhibitions, an IMAX, movie theatre, concert halls and an outdoor children playground stretching along the canal. Board a péniche (barge) that'll take you to the heart of Paris through several locks and echoing tunnels.
To the southeast part, you'll reach on Menilmontant Boulevard the Pere Lachaise Cemetery where many historic characters such as Proust, Yves Montand and Jim Morisson have their grave. Many other famous personalities wait for their fans who go on a pilgrimage to their idol.
In the nineteenth district of Paris, the Buttes Chaumont Park is very prized place by Parisians who come here in summer as well as in winter for a nice stroll.
