Castelnou

Castelnou is typical of the rural Catalan style.
The castle has the natural shape of the rock it was built on and is like a pentagon. The defence was insured by the very steep rock, the 9-foot wide walls and its eight towers. The église santa maria del mercadal is a roman-style construction.
