Lauzerte

Midi-Pyrénées

Lauzerte was an ancient trading city as well as one of magistrates, clerics and erbelious aristocrats.

It was a bastide which ruled 40 miles around until the Revolution and a halt on the road to St Jacques. The place has kept many buildings to tell its glorious past. Fruits, poultry and foie gras are quite renowned.
