The Most Beautiful Villages of France
Séguret
Provence
At the foot of Dentelles de Montmirail, Seguret is an open balcony on the Rhône valley.
On the flanks of a hill and under the tower of the old medieval castle, Séguret stands proudly in a vine landscape. Inhabited as early as prehistoric times and enriched in gallo-roman times, the village was built in the 10th and up to the Revolution belonged to the papacy before becoming part of France in 1793. The village has kept an important historical heritage: port Reynier, the 15th belfry, the 12th St Denis roman church, the 17th ND des Grâces chapel. From the church, the eye can go as far as the Cévennes massif.
