Where to stay?

Les Demeures de Longcol

Just outside of Najac, this unique medieval hamlet summons from the heart of a 54.3 acre tree-lined park, located inside a curve of the Aveyron river. Comfortable, personalized bedrooms decorated with character look out over the valley or the pool. Fine dining, using mostly organic produce. While this is a no-smoking destination, a smoking room is available for smoking aficionados.

It was a simple square tower in the 12 th, the NAJAC castle became a fortress in the 13th at St Louis ‘command. Its strategic position gave it a rather shaky history. Kings of France and England, the counts of Toulouse, the protestants all tried to seize it. The inhabitants converted to the cathar heresy in the years 1200 and were forced by the inquisition to build the église St Jean at their own expense. It is one of the first gothic-style churches in the region of Rouergue.
