Located at 15 kilometers from Clermont-Ferrand in Saint-Saturnin, one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France, this castle was built in the XVIIIth century by the Tour d’Auvergne family.
Nearby the castle, above the village, the Romanesque church dedicated to the 1st bishops of Toulouse who were martyrs in the 3rd century and whose remains were brought back in Auvergne. On the village central square, the Romanesque church of La Madelaine is one of the remains of a larger building dating to 1040.
The rue Noble, with its beautiful mansions, leads to the bottom of the village. The market square and the wine-makers’ houses remind us that Auvergne was the largest producer of wine in the 19th.
